ODESSA, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) - The Permian Panthers have a new man at the helm.
ECISD spokesman Mike Adkins says Jeff Ellison has been named the interim head coach for the Panthers.
The news comes soon after the departure of former coach Blake Feldt.
Feldt has since moved over to MISD to serve as the executive director of athletics.
Ellison served as the assistant head coach and offensive line coach at Permian last season.
Adkins says Ellison was one of three candidates interviewed for the spot.
Others included Offensive coordinator Chad Fortune and Defensive Coordinator Vance Washington.
A full search will be conducted after the upcoming season, according to ECISD.
