Permian girls basketball team opened its season Saturday with a 75-40 loss on the road against Plainview.
Lady Panthers’ head coach Angela Braziel-Smith said the team competed with the Lady Bulldogs during the first half, but they ran into foul trouble in the second half and let Plainview pull away for the victory.
Permian was led by senior Klarissa Cruz, who finished the game with 12 points.
The Lady Panthers (0-1) return to action 6 p.m. Tuesday for their home opener, against Lubbock Monterey.
