Permian’s Will Adams opened the 6A state golf tournament with a round of 1-under par 71 at Legacy Hills Golf Course on Monday.

Adams is in a tie for 7th place, three shots behind the co-leaders, William Moll of Houston Memorial and Damin Strydom from Kingwood.

Austin Westlake leads the team competition by three shots over Plano West after shooting 288 to begin the tournament.

Adams will hit the course for the final round today at 10 a.m.
